Publix Employees do Major Clean-up and Packing
Fifty employees from various East and Central Pasco Publix Stores dropped in on The Thomas Promise Foundation Sept. 19 where they packed weekend bags for food insecure students, organized storage areas, and gave the grounds a face-lift.
The visit was arranged through both group’s involvement with United Way of Pasco County.
Joe Simmons, executive director for the Thomas Promise Foundation said, “They did a lot of work very quickly and very efficiently, we cannot say enough great words about all the amazing people that came out from Publix to work at the foundation! We also thank United Way of Pasco for the help they give us ad the community.”
Suncoast Credit Union Foundation Grants $20,000
The Thomas Promise Foundation announces a charitable gift of $20,000 from the Suncoast Credit Union Foundation. The funds will be used for purchasing food items to provide weekend meals for food-insecure students in Pasco County. The gift will translate into about 35,000 meals.
This gift will greatly enhance our ability to ensure that kids don’t go hungry over the weekends,” said Joe Simmons, Executive Director for the Thomas Promise Foundation. “Studies show that school performance is impacted by hunger and even worrying about hunger. This will go a long way in helping us fulfil our mission. We are grateful to the Suncoast Credit Union Foundation for their gift,”
